Orange Empire Conference Well Represented in Canada Cup

A handful of Orange Empire Conference softball coaches either competed in, or coached in the 2009 Canada Cup held this past July in Surrey, British Columbia. Among those representing the OEC were Santa Ana College Head Coach Jessica Rapoza who played for California Activities, Orange Coast College Head Coach Ruby Rojas who played for Venezuela and Santa Ana College Assistant Coach Kim Nutter who coached on California Activities. Also in attendance were Fullerton Head Coach Lisa Bassi and Golden West College Head Coach Suzy Brazney.

California Activities finished second in the North American Division with an overall record of 6-1 before being eliminated in the International Championship round while Venezuela lost to host Canada in the semifinals.
