OEC Swimming Championships – Day Two: OCC’s Inoue Snaps 100 Back Meet Record, Extends Lead
Orange Coast’s Tatsuki Inoue snapped the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championship record for the 100 Back with a time of 49.63 to highlight a dominant performance from the Pirates. The men extended their lead with five top finishes, while the women won all but one event at the conclusion of day two.

MEN
The Pirates extended their lead after day two by pushing their total to 615 points. Golden West follows in second place with 449 points, while Saddleback holds steady in third place with 310 points.
Orange Coast left the Riverside Aquatics Complex with five gold medals draped around their necks. Two of them came in relays as they touched the wall first in the 200 Medley Relay (1:32.14) and the 800 Free Relay (6:55.32). Inoue earned the biggest honor of the day by snapping the 100 Back (49.63) record en route to a commanding win. The previous mark was set at 50.36 by Golden West's Aiden Lund in 2017. Ethan Smith placed first in the 100 Fly (48.01), while Mathew Simpson earned the top mark in the 400 IM (4:02.50).
Andrew Leong hauled in the silver medal in the 100 Fly (49.86) and the 100 Back (50.91), while Thomas Lemoncito matched his second place mark finish in the 100 Breast (59.37). Toby Jones followed in third in the 100 Breast (59.73).
Golden West accounted for the other two first place finish. Felipe Ferreira earned the top spot in the 200 Free (1:44.59), while Srboljub Filipovic stood atop the podium in the 100 Breast (56.80).
The Rustlers 200 Medley Relay squad place second overall (1:32.14), while their 800 Free Relay team placed second (7:11.59) as well. Kyle Sary reeled in a second place mark in the 200 Free (1:45.10).
Cypress' Ethan Umpornpuckdi ha the teams strongest showing in the 400 IM (4:03.49) which earned them a silver medal.
WOMEN
The Pirates extended their lead over the field by finishing the day with 581 total points, while Riverside followed with 452 points. Fullerton moved up slightly in the hunt as they currently sit in third with 336 points.
All but one race was won by OCC as they took command of the pool throughout day two. Sude Yilmazturk was the catalyst as she racked up to top finishes coming in the 100 Fly (1:00.30) and the 100 Back (1:00.39).
Coast began the day with a victory in the 200 Medley Relay (1:32.14) to get off to a strong start. Giselle Quinonez touched the wall first in the 200 Free (1:58.28), while Yuuri Yoshikawa followed with a first place mark in the 100 Breast (1:08.99). They finished the day with a dominant performance in the 800 Free Relay (8:08.25).
Fullerton's Anoushka Jaievsky snapped the OCC gold medal streak early in the meet with a top finish in the 400 IM (4:49.91). The Hornets added a silver medal finish compliments of Charley Jackson's mark in the 100 Breast (1:13.89).
Riverside had two second place relay marks coming in the 200 Medley Relay (1:56.33) and the 800 Free Relay (8:16.67). Lauren Loffelmacher earned a second place finishes in the 400 IM (4:49.91) and Lindsey Habegger earne the silver medal in the 200 Free (2:02.68). Lara Pillar hauled in a bronze medal in the 100 Back (1:02.50).
Saddleback was highlighted by Sophia Guntrip and her third place finish in the 100 Fly (1:05.17).
