Cypress Chargers Win 2015 Don Johnson Classic
The Cypress Chargers (9-2) overcame a 13 point deficit to defeat the LA Harbor Seahawks (4-7) in the 2015 Don Johnson Classic Championship game, 76-69.

Sophomore guard Nolan Kelly led the way for the Chargers with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting while all-tournament selection O'Shae Williams poured in 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Tournament MVP Jordan Fleck added eight points, three rebounds, and three steals.
The Chargers struggled to find their rhythm against the Seahawks zone defense early in the game. Cypress shot only 29-percent from the field including 5-of-21 from beyond the arc in the first half. The Seahawks outscored the Chargers 24-6 in the paint and shot 64-percent from the field on their way to a 37-24 halftime lead.
Cypress was able to steal the momentum in the second half led by 17 points off the bench from O'Shae Williams and timely three point baskets from Nolan Kelly and Austin Payne. After battling back, the Chargers took their first lead of the contest (62-60) with 4:07 remaining before ending the game on a 14-9 run to clinch the victory.
Cypress outscored LA Harbor 52-32 in the second half as the Chargers converted eight Seahawk turnovers into transition baskets. The easy baskets got Cypress in rhythm offensively as they shot 10-of-18 from downtown in the second half.
The Chargers 9-2 overall record under second year head coach Andrew Alhadeff is the best start for men's basketball since the 1994-95 season and the Don Johnson Classic is their first tournament championship victory since the 2001-02 season.
