Golden West College Men's Volleyball Head Coach Nick Amado has been named the Orange Empire Conference John Altobelli Coach of the Year, capping off a historic season for the Rustlers.
Amado, who took over the Rustlers program in the spring of 2022, has guided Golden West to rapid success in just three short years. After reaching the state semifinals in 2024, he led the Rustlers to the 2025 3C2A State Championship—the program's first since 2013. Under his leadership, Golden West posted an impressive 23-2 overall record while also capturing the inaugural Southern California Men's Volleyball Conference title with a 12-2 conference mark.
In addition to team success, Amado's players thrived individually, with three student-athletes earning First Team All-Conference honors and two named to the Second Team. Amado was also selected the Southern California Men's Volleyball Conference Southern Region Coach of the Year.
