Kraushaar takes home OEC heptathlon title

SANTA ANA -- Orange Coast College track and field standout Charlotte Kraushaar continued her strong work into Day 2 of the Orange Empire Conference Heptathlon/Decathlon Championships on Thursday at took home the title with 3,508 points.

Fullerton's Roxanne Cuevas was a distant second to Kraushaar with 2,846 points, followed by OCC's Isabella Alston (2,733 ponts), Julie Marinaro (2,517 points), Yasmine Cocotis (2,260 points), Sierra Browne (1,671 points) and Daniela Estrada (1,410 points).

On the men's side, OCC's Tyler Young earned a solid fourth-place spot in the final decathlon standings with 4,655 points.

The Pirates will return to action this weekend at the Ben Brown Invitational, hosted by Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
