Gauchos Earn Share of Conference Title With Home Win
The Saddleback women's golf team claimed at least a share of the 2017 Orange Empire Conference title on Wednesday as the Gauchos won the final regular-season conference match which was played at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course in Mission Viejo, Saddleback's home course.

Saddleback posted a team score of 338 to win the event while Fullerton finished second at 362 and Irvine Valley placed third at 368. Mt. San Antonio posted a team score of 392.
Fullerton's Kaylee Jeon (pictured) carded a 4-over-par 76 to win individual medalist honors while Saddleback's Brittney Do was the runner-up at 80 and teammate Deanna Pagaduan came through with an 81. Mackenzie Kelly of Mt. San Antonio posted an 82.
Saddleback picked up four wins during the event and now has 23 for the season while Irvine Valley has 15 wins and both Fullerton and Mt. San Antonio each have 10 wins. Only next week's Orange Empire Conference championship remains, with eight wins available for the team which wins that two-day, 36-hole event being played Monday and Wednesday at the Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills.
Saddleback's Do has a three stroke lead over Irvine Valley's Kylie Sok and seven stroke lead over Fullerton's Jeon for the conference's Player of the Year honor which equates to the player with the lowest season-long scoring average. Do is averaging 76.6 strokes per round with Sok at 77.2 and Jeon at 78.0.
